It was an honor to be invited by Nanyang Technological University’s prestigious Nanyang Business School to lead a session for their MBA and Masters students. The discussion centered on the burgeoning economic landscape of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, with a specific focus on the dynamic markets of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This session provided a platform to illuminate the exciting career pathways emerging in these fast-growing economies for the next generation of global business talent.
Key Discussion Themes:
- The Evolving GCC Landscape: An analysis of the current industry trends and economic transformations shaping the business environment in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
- Navigating Career Pathways: A practical guide for graduates, featuring real-life case studies of NTU alumni who have successfully built their careers across the APAC and GCC regions.
- The Recruiter’s Perspective: Actionable insights on personal branding and strategies to stand out in a competitive job market, including how to optimize one’s profile to be headhunted on LinkedIn—a critical skill when a single role can attract hundreds of applicants.
A special thank you to Sareth Kumar and Sze Yian Kueh from the NTU Career Services team for their collaboration and for facilitating such a meaningful dialogue with a cohort of bright and ambitious future leaders.
Mentoring the next generation is an incredibly rewarding experience. I am hopeful that the session inspired students to think beyond conventional boundaries and to pursue their professional goals with confidence, resilience, and a spirit of innovation.
